Falling for Fall; The Buxom Beauty’s Autumn Season Favorites

Summer officially ends on Friday, September 22nd, and soon it will be time for sweaters, jackets and boots.

When it comes to seasonal fashion, fall is my favorite time of year. There is so much versatility in layering to accommodate the cooler weather. From cardigans to blazers and printed tights with skirts – the varying looks are virtually endless.

Although I absolutely love the weather in my hometown this time of year, finding the right articles of clothing can be a bit difficult. I leave for work when there is a chill in the air and fog on my windshield. At the conclusion of my workday I walk out of my office building and I am welcomed by beautiful sunshine and a warm breeze. Even though there is typically a drastic difference between summer and fall, there is usually a transition period.

A great option for transitioning from summer to fall are three-quarter-length sleeves. Pictured below is a gorgeous cobalt blue peplum dress with three-quarter-length sleeves. This style is trendy and provides enough coverage to keep warm during the cool of the morning, and can also keep you comfortable on warm afternoons.

Layering is another go-to autumn favorite look for me. It gives so much versatility and it is a great vehicle for creativity with expressing one’s style. You can easily adjust to the temperature by removing a layer if needed. It is also a perfect way to play with varying textures, patterns, and colors.

I am drawn to the above look mainly because of the bold yellow. You don’t have to put away the bright colors when summer ends – feel free to let them out of your closet in autumn too.

Tights are another great way to express your style and keep your legs warm when wearing dresses and skirts during this season. The tights pictured can add a touch of sexiness to your look. You can’t go wrong pairing them with heels, wedges or flats.

And now my favorite thing about fall – BOOTS! There are so many options when it comes to this piece of footwear; ankle, knee, thigh, leather, suede, or nylon. And I can’t forget about the various heels; stilettos, platforms, wedges, blocks, and flats. Boots look great with almost anything. The jury is still out regarding my favorite. I love the look of a midi skirt with an over-the-knee boot. But, I don’t think there’s anything hotter than well-fitted skinny jeans and an ankle boot. I don’t typically break out my boots until mid-November, but eat your chicken the way you choose.

The change in the season is an opportunity to revive your overall look. I’ve been pondering over adding more color to my every day look with lipstick. Even though I am a fan of lip color, I tend to shy away from it. I think I will broaden my horizons and try it this autumn.

Choosing a new hairstyle is also a good way to alter your look at the change of a season. Have fun with it! Are there any fashion trends you’d like to try this fall season? Tell us all about it. We’d love to hear from you!

Today I’ve shared my fall season favorites, but what good will it do you without sharing where to go to get them?

My favorite label for autumn dresses is Marycrafts. You can find them online at Amazon.com. They are well-structured with thick fabric that is perfect for the upcoming season. I have two go-to spots for cardigans; Lane Bryant (LB) and Target. LB has a great selection of cardigans and sweaters for work. Target carries fun and colorful cardigans for work or play at great prices.

Amazon.com and ModCloth have awesome tights; and if you have large calves like me and you’re trying to locate boots to accommodate them, check out ELOQUII and Ted & Muffy.

Until the next time, be you and most importantly- love you.

Being uniquely you is being uniquely beautiful.
