WWBBW: I am a Fan of Slow Fashion; My Thoughts on the Extra Buttoned Long Sleeve Shirt and the Black Kaftan Linen Dress from AAKASHA

A lot of time had passed since I purchased something new from AAKASHA on Etsy. I made my first purchase from this gem in 2020, which I blogged about. I returned to AAKASHA because of the bag I bought and wrote about from there two years ago.

I hadn’t carried the bag in quite some time. I can’t tell you why—it was probably due to laziness. It is so easy for me to throw everything under the sun in my MCM reversible shopper and keep it moving, which is what I typically do on a daily basis. However, one Wednesday morning, I decided to switch to my AAKASHA large rectangular leather bag.

I received a lot of compliments surrounding the bag, mainly because of its uniqueness. One guy even said, “I like your bag. I’ve never seen that before.” A few of the ladies at work noticed the bag as well, one of whom followed me into my office to learn more about it. I believe it is pretty obvious that I am not shy about sharing where I find the things I wear. So, I brought up the Etsy website and showed her the AAKASHA storefront.

As we scrolled through the page, we spotted other bags and some clothes that piqued our interest. One of the first items I spotted was the Extra Buttoned Long Sleeved Shirt. As soon as I saw it, I wanted to add it to my wardrobe—so I ordered it.

It took about nine days for me to receive my order. The blouse arrived intricately and meticulously packaged, which made me feel appreciated and valued as a customer. As I unwrapped it, I laid eyes on a beautifully crafted garment that looked exactly as it is pictured and it was also soft to the touch.

All of the buttons are operational, so you can style them in various ways. It can be easily paired with dress pants, jeans, or a skirt to fit an array of occasions.

I styled it with two of my favorite wardrobe staples: Good American jeans and Nine West mules for an easy casual workday look.

I ordered a size 4XL from the Etsy storefront, which is equivalent to a US size 18 and it fits perfectly. The blouse is a great wardrobe staple and it is perfect for transitioning from summer to fall. The design of the blouse is a classic and unique statement piece I’m glad I purchased.

One of the other items that caught my eye is the Black Kaftan Linen Dress. Once again, I was drawn to the uniqueness of the design. I ordered the dress and it arrived in five days. The dress was packaged with care and detail as well. However, upon opening the package I wasn’t confident it would fit me and it also took me some time to figure out how to put it on.

After I stopped laughing at myself, I was able to put it on and I was pleasantly surprised at the fit and look of the dress on me.

Similar to the AAKASHA blouse, this dress can be worn in different ways. Its versatility makes it a great staple piece that can be fun to wear to brunch, on a date, and to work.

I paired it with my Jessica Simpson slip-on mules and turquoise dangle earrings for a pop of color.

In all transparency, I have become spoiled by the quick delivery I typically receive from Amazon and other fast fashion retailers, but in my eyes, it doesn’t compare to the product level and customer service of slow fashion. There’s a special feeling attached to purchasing something made specifically for me.

After making my purchases from AAKASHA in Sofia, Bulgaria through Etsy, I learned AAKASHA clothing can be purchased on their website and they also have stores located in Seattle and Canada.

I’m glad I stumbled upon this brand. I’ve made four purchases from them and I’m very pleased with all of them. I am also confident I’ll be buying more. As a matter of fact, this fashionista’s eye was captivated by the Elegant Multiway Maxi Dress and the Circle Leather Hobo Bag. I’ve been pondering over visiting the San Juan Islands, maybe I can add Seattle as one of my travel legs. Hmmm…

Until the next time be you—and more importantly—love you.

Being uniquely you is being uniquely beautiful.
