WWBBW Product Review: I Tried Laneige Lip Glowy Balm and Lip Treatment Balm, but Can they Replace My Favorite Brand?

Two weeks ago, I discovered the Peach lip balm by Too Faced has been discontinued. I am still devastated by this tragedy, but I am trying to pick up the pieces and search for a replacement.

I decided to give Laneige a try. I learned about this brand when I received my birthday gift from Sephora, which included Laneige’s lip sleeping mask that I like a lot. I ordered the Peach Lip Glowy Balm for $17 and the Lip Treatment Balm for $25 to see if either of them could fill the hole in my heart from my missing balm.

I made my purchase directly from Laneige. Their site is easy to navigate and shipping was relatively quick. I tried the Peach Lip Glowy Balm first. I like the packaging, it is compact and can easily fit in my bag or pocket. I also like it being in a tube, which makes it easy to apply when needed. It has a nice shine without being overbearing and it isn’t sticky. My lips felt moisturized and soft. Now…the cons.

Laneige Peach Lip Glowy Balm

The first thing on my “dislike list” is my fault. I assumed the balm was flavored, so I was disappointed to find out it is not. Even though I am a full-grown woman, I prefer flavored lip balms. Although my lips felt soft, they didn’t look like they were and I had to reapply the balm more often than I’d like to keep my lips moisturized. Overall, I consider it an “okay” product. I’d keep it in my desk drawer as a backup or on my nightstand to use before bed, but it isn’t a WWBBW recommendation that I’d carry as an essential product for daily use.

Laneige Lip Treatment Balm

I look so much like my Mommy in this picture—but I digress. I like the Lip Treatment Balm a lot more than the Glowy Lip Balm. The treatment balm comes with an applicator, which keeps my potentially dirty fingers out of the container. The balm gives a good amount of shine and moisture—it’s like a lip balm and gloss in one. When it is applied, it gives a cooling and tingling sensation because it is also a lip plumper—which I didn’t know. I don’t need that—my lips are naturally full, juicy, and plump! I don’t like that is a “lip plumper” and unflavored, but I give it a thumbs up for keeping my lips soft, shiny, and moisturized without reapplying multiple times. Although I have more pros than cons, I’m not completely satisfied. However, I will classify it as a WWBBW close runner-up.

Needless to say, Laneige did not fulfill my requirement. So, my search continues for a lip balm replacement—I’ll keep you posted!

Until the next time be you—but more important—love you.

Being uniquely you is being uniquely beautiful.
