WWBBW Product Review: I Tried Truly Beauty—Is It Worth the Price?

An ad for Truly Beauty popped up on my newsfeed sometime ago. My interest in the brand was piqued due to its packaging. What can I say—I’m a sucker for cuteness.

The first items I tried were the Coco Cloud Whipped Luxury Shave Butter, the Coco Cloud After Shave Serum, the Life Saver Starter Razor, and the Unicorn Fruit Whipped Body Butter. Although I love the look of the packaging, I admit I was a bit nervous about using the products because they’re in glass containers and I am accident-prone. I typically shave my legs in the shower. I imagined knocking the jar over and stepping in shattered glass in the tub. Truth be told, I knocked the shave butter over while I was shaving my armpits—but it’s cute. Luckily, I didn’t break anything and I was able to execute my shaving routine.

As I stated earlier, I was drawn to the product line because of the packaging, but I was also interested in trying the shave butter. I usually use Skintimate, but I was unable to find it the last time I was shopping for it, so I bought a different brand and I dislike the smell immensely. Needless to say, I wanted a replacement.

The Coco Cloud Whipped Luxury Shave Butter, which can be purchased at Truly Beauty and Ulta for $20.00, smells absolutely delightful and the feel of it is just as nice as the scent. The amount in the jar made me pause, but a little goes a long way.

I used the shave butter and the Life Saver Razor on my pits first, and I must say, it was the smoothest shave I’ve ever experienced. Honestly, I was in awe with the first stroke. I shaved my legs with the razor—which is $20.00 at Truly Beauty and Ulta as well—and the shave butter, and I was equally satisfied with the results.

I usually use Johnson’s baby oil after I shave, but this time I tried the Coco Cloud After Shave Serum, which is $30.00. I liked the feel of the serum on my skin and the results of using it; however, I can’t say I liked it more than the baby oil, nor can I say it is worth the price.

The last product I’m going to review in this post is the Unicorn Fruit Body Butter, which is available for $20.00 at Truly Beauty and Ulta. The butter is colorful, cute, and smells delicious. It has a smooth and velvety texture, which felt great on my skin. It isn’t too thick, yet it moisturizes well. I like the product, but not as much as I like Ancient Cosmetics’ Tropical Pineapple + Bergamot Oil Body Butter.

Overall, this Buxom Beauty will return to Truly Beauty to purchase their luxury shave butter and razor cartridges—I think they’re both worth the price. However, I don’t think I will purchase the aftershave serum or the body butter—I don’t think they were worth the price.

Although I was not completely satisfied with all the items I highlighted in this post, I still give Truly Beauty a “thumbs up.”

There’s more to come on my thoughts of Truly Beauty. Stay tuned for a review of their Buns of Glowry Smoothing Butt Polish and their Moon Rocks Whipped Body Scrub.

Until the next time be you—and more important—love you.

Being uniquely you is being uniquely beautiful.
