WWBBW: Knee-Lenth-ish Dresses—”Accentuate the Positive and Eliminate the Negative”

If you follow me on social media, specifically Facebook, you may have seen the below post I shared in November.

My mother encouraged me to wear dresses and skirts that accentuate my legs more. I liked the look of the Koinshha bodycon dress from Amazon so much that it inspired me to create more looks that show off my legs. Here are a few looks I decided to call “knee-length-(ish) dresses.

The Throwback: This look comprises another Amazon find. I purchased the VFSHOW ruched bodycon dress a few years ago, so when I pulled it out, I was doubtful I could fit it. I was wrong! It fits like a glove.

The material is stretchy and comfortable. It moved with me and did not rise when I walked. It is also a good choice for an office environment.

Pictured below, I’m wearing a size XXL in their houndstooth design, which isn’t available anymore. However, they have 26 other colors/styles available to choose from in sizes XS-3X. You can snag this dress for $42.99 on Amazon.com.

I paired the dress with Silky Toes black tights from Amazon and DKNY Zayne pumps from Macy’s.

I’ve had the tights for a few winters. They are comfortable and sustainable. I haven’t experienced any rolling or tearing. I purchased them in size 1-2 Plus. One pair is $16.95 and two pairs are $22.95.

The pumps are fun and versatile. I was drawn to them because they are in the middle—they’re not casual nor are they dressy, they are a bit of a mix. They are also comfortable and easy to walk in. The sole is rubber and slightly rugged, which eliminates sliding on those uncarpeted office floors. They are currently on sale for $64.50 at Macy’s.

Leopard, Yeah!: A few weeks ago, I expressed my extreme liking for leopard print. So, I was super excited when I spotted the Macy animal print dress from Never Fully Dressed. I stumbled upon this United Kingdom-based store a few months ago and I wanted to give it a try. There were three dresses that caught my eye, but I decided to choose between Macy and Dylan. I had a hard time deciding between the two of them so I decided to engage with the online chat service, which encouraged me to pick Macy.

I was very happy with the speed of the delivery and the look and feel of the dress. The quality is great and I love the bold colors and pattern; however, I think I should have chosen Dylan. The design of the dress doesn’t positively accentuate my bust. It shortens my upper torso in an unflattering way.

The dress itself is cute—just not on me. It is currently sold out in all sizes, but there is a “notify me” feature to be contacted when your size is available.

I paired it with Berkshire brown fleece tights from Amazon and Kenneth Cole chocolate brown suede boots from Nordstrom.

The tights are warm and comfortable. They were also a great black-out option that paired nicely with the length of the dress. I purchased them from Amazon for $14.73 in size 3X-4X. The boots are comfortable and complement the dress. They are on sale at Nordstrom for $143.37.

Orange Surprise: This look derived from another Amazon find. I actually purchased it in hopes to pair it with a pair of Sam Edelman Circus Khiara platform pumps.

The colors didn’t match as well as I had hoped, but I found something to wear them with that I’ll post soon. I purchased the platforms from Nordstrom for $44.96, but Circus boots and shoes can also be found on Amazon or directly from the Sam Edelman Circus NY website.

I decided to keep the dress because I like having low-maintenance pieces on hand for the days I don’t pre-plan an outfit. However, this dress turned out to be more than an emergency piece. The material is very soft and the sizing is perfect.

I paired it with brown tights and a pair of Louise Et Cie Ovidio pumps I purchased from Nordstrom about three years ago, which were a great addition to complete the look.

The dress is available in a variety of colors in sizes S-XXL. I snagged the dress in size XXL for $44.99 on Amazon.com. Unfortunately, the Ovidio pump is sold out at Nordstrom.

I had fun compiling my “knee-length-(ish)” dresses looks. Now to figure out what to highlight next. Stay tuned!

Until the next time be you—and more importantly—love you.

Being uniquely you is being uniquely beautiful.
