WWBBW: “You Should Have a Blog”; Confessions of a Fashionista Part Deux

The words that comprise the title of this post were spoken to me by one of my new-ish co-workers. I think it was my second day in the office when she said, “I think I’m going to like the way you dress.”

It is no secret that I like clothes. Shopping is high on my list of “favorite things to do.” Honestly, it is a tight race identifying my absolute favorite thing to do—eating, shopping, and sleeping are running a close race—but I digress. This was not the first time someone suggested creating a blog to me. Actually, I started the DOSBB blog with the intent of sharing my style, but it went in another direction. By no means do I regret the message I’ve tried to share over the past five years; however, I am interested in being a little more intentional with the “fashion side” of this blog.

Over the last 10 months, I haven’t been as motivated to get “dolled up” as much as I have in the past. I think the change in my mindset was strongly influenced by COVID-19. My work schedule was altered and we’ve been encouraged (or allowed) to “dress down,” and I’ve taken full advantage of it. So I haven’t been wearing my “curve-loving” dresses and three and one-half inch heels.

I’ve been more inclined to rock jeans, leggings, and sweaters with my Ugg boots. But I think I’ve been wearing my Uggs too much. The last time I wore high-heel boots at work was literally painful. However, they were a great complement to the Jessica Belted Sweater Maxi dress I copped from Fashionnova.com, which is body hugging and super soft!

It is my intent to become acclimated with the fashion side of my brain again, so stay tuned for some new #WWBBW looks.

Until the next time be you—but more important—love you.

Being uniquely you is being uniquely beautiful.
