Keys in life, Love & Happiness

It is Time I Stop Watching and Start Doing – Again; Another Late Night Confession

For the past few weeks I haven’t spent much time on social media or my blog. The reason for my absence is both good and bad. I’ve been spending more time interacting with people face-to-face rather than virtually, which is a good thing. However, the other reason for my lapse in social media activities isn’t good.

Earlier today as I was scrolling through Facebook, I read a post that I identified with that caused me to think about my recent behaviors. In a nutshell, the writer of the post expressed irritation toward people who have stolen their words and ideas and given no credit to them. I can relate to the feeling.

I realize I am not the only person who struggled with self-esteem and decided to share the journey to a better way of thinking. However, it doesn’t feel good to see and hear messages that are almost verbatim to your own and not receive any credit for it. But, this is not where the story ends.

A comment was written in response to the aforementioned post that made me think. The writer questioned the desire for credit. Which, made me ask myself , “Are you trying to help others or are you trying to exalt yourself?”

It is my desire to inspire and encourage everyone who reads the words I write and interacts with me in general. And as one of my good friends stated, the fact that my words are being repeated means I have inspired them. But, I cannot inspire or encourage if I am silent – right?

I don’t have thousands of followers, nor am I known by the masses – but, I do have a story that has helped someone. And in order to help one more, I have to keep going in spite of discouragement or replication.

I have a vehicle to utilize a God-given talent; and it is my hope that the sentences I form cause us to love ourselves as He intended us to do.

I am opening the door to marvelous things; you should join me.

Until the next time, be you and most importantly- love you.

Being uniquely you is being uniquely beautiful.
