What Would B.B. Wear (WWBBW): A Look Back at B.B.’s Fashion Picks

Almost five years ago I started a quest to promote and instill self-love and acceptance through the words that I write. I also decided to follow a suggestion to share my fashion choices as a part of this pursuit.

When I settled down to write this week’s WWBBW post I pondered over what to share. Since this feature of the DOSBB blog is about what I choose to wear, I thought it might be fun to revisit some of my favorite pieces from my wardrobe over the past five years.

Considering how much I like clothes, it was somewhat difficult narrowing my list down—but I figured it out. I think we’ll need to take a few looks back to capture a good snapshot of the Buxom Beauty’s favorite pieces!

1.Black and White Wiggle Dress by Pinup Girl Clothing

I absolutely adore dresses! I will reach for a dress more often than any other article of clothing. I think they are the epitome of feminity and class. And out of all the different types of dresses there are, my favorite style is the wiggle dress.

A wiggle dress hem is narrower than the hips, which causes the wearer to walk in short strides producing a sway or wiggle of the hips.

Wiggle dresses are extremely flattering to a variety of body types. They are especially flattering on an hourglass figure; however, this dress design complements most female body forms.

I am fond of this look because the dress holds true to its name. It fits my body frame and hugs every curve in a tasteful and sophisticated way.

2. Shift Mini Dress by Jibri

A shift dress falls straight from the shoulders and has darts around the bust. Its name derives from the change from corset-laden styles that pre-dated the 1920s. The shift dress style is associated with youth culture and it also symbolizes a shift in thought regarding women’s clothing.

I chose this look because of the modern simplicity of the dress. The fabric is comfortable, yet stylish. I like the label Jibri because all of the pieces are handmade in Atlanta, GA. and the designs were created specifically for the curvy woman.

3. Distressed jeans by Good American

Although I haven’t been wearing jeans a lot lately, I still consider them to be a staple in my wardrobe. Good American jeans made me a believer that it is possible to love an article of clothing. I think I rotated wearing these jeans every Friday to work. They have the perfect amount of stretch, which makes them fit perfectly.

The distress isn’t overbearing at all. One of my friends totally agreed. Her description was, “You don’t look like you’ve been attacked by an eagle!”

I like this brand because it was also designed with a curvy shopper in mind. They fit from my waist down to my ankles. I don’t have to be concerned about them gapping around my waist, being too tight around my thighs, or too long for my height. They are just right!

4. Houndstooth Jumpsuit by Fashion Nova

This houndstooth jumper is one of my “go-to” outfits for work. The material is comfortable and stretchy. Pairing it with a cardigan makes it perfect for business-casual Fridays. On the particular Friday this picture was taken, I slipped on a pair of peep-toe patten leather pumps to dress it up a little.

I like having what I call “throw-on” pieces for the days that I don’t feel like getting “fully dressed-up.” And this one-piece wonder fits the bill.

5. LRD by vfshow on Amazon.com

I couldn’t close this post without mentioning the Little Red Dress (LRD)!

An LRD is a must in my wardrobe. It is a nice pop to throw on for work or a nice date. For me, it is a reminder to let my passion, sexuality, joy, strength, leadership, courage, willpower, radiance, and love shine! Everything the color red represents.

Thanks for taking this little trip down memory lane with me—this may become a recurring #WWBBW topic!

Until the next time be you—and most important—love you.

Being uniquely you is being uniquely beautiful. – B.B. 💋
