What Would B.B. Wear (WWBBW): Mixed Prints

Inspiration and encouragement can come from unexpected people at a time it is needed most.

Arms Out…Curls Out

A few weeks ago one of my coworkers shared her recent shopping experience with me. She told me she purchased a fuchsia blazer and thought, ‘”Towanda would be proud of me.”‘

If you follow me on IG or Fashom—which, I know hasn’t been updated with #ootd photos in a while—you know I am a huge fan of color and prints regardless of the season. She wore the jacket this week and modeled it in our office space and said, ‘”What would Towanda wear (WWTW)?”‘ And I thought, ‘what a great idea for my blog!’ So welcome to the first WWBBW post!

MIXED PRINTS

I had been interested in wearing mixed prints and patterns for quite some time, and I was excited to find some pieces to give the look a try.

Although mixing prints has been trending for quite some time, it is still a great way to express your individuality and creativity. There are quite a few benefits to exploring this trend. It is a look that can be worn regardless of the season and it can also expand the look and feel of your wardrobe.

Mixed Prints!

This look was achieved completely by pieces from NY and Company.

I gave thought to other ways to mix prints and patterns with my wardrobe and came up with another fun way to do it—accessories!

During my vacation in Puerto Rico, I spotted a necklace at the Chroma Local Design Shop in the Mall of San Juan. I liked the necklace so much that I went back to purchase it (and some other pieces) after my spa treatment. I also had the privilege of meeting the designer behind the pieces that intrigued my fashion senses.

I purchased a few jewelry pieces from Boton De Azucar that I decided to pair with common prints and patterns. The mix of prints and colors of the jewelry adds a sprinkle of personality and pop to bold black and white stripes and traditional houndstooth.

Consider mixing prints with your wardrobe. You might like it!

Until the next time, be you and most important—love you.

Being uniquely you is being uniquely beautiful. -B.B. 💋
